Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) Growth

The project includes a financial contribution to the Jordan Inclusive Growth and Economic Opportunities Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF Growth) administered by the World Bank. The aim of the project is to support the reform agenda of the Jordanian government (Reform and Growth Matrix). The goals of the reform agenda (2020-2024) include i) sound economic management and governance, ii) stronger private sector growth and greater competition, iii) improvements in the labor market and social safety nets, and iv) greater efficiency and effectiveness in the transport, water and energy sectors. The reform-related studies and other support measures to be financed from the MDTF are determined based on demand. The target group is the Jordanian government and administration, the private sector and civil society. Other target groups are Jordanians nationwide, although the exact definition of the target group depends on the individual projects financed by the MDTF, with a particular focus on women and young people. The individual projects in the MDTF Growth are partly carried out by the World Bank, and partly through various government agencies. Support is provided by the Reform Secretariat, which was set up as part of the MDTF Growth to strengthen the Jordanian government's ability to implement the reform matrix and is located in the Jordanian Ministry of Planning. The project is managed by a steering committee in which Germany is represented.
