Multi-family housing project on S. Michigan Avenue

Planned

The Big Rapids planning commission will hold a public hearing on a site plan review for development of a multi-family residential housing project at 624 and 630 South Michigan Avenue. The project involves tearing down existing structures and building a new three-story residential structure with eight units, each having four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a kitchen, living area, and laundry facilities. The site plans have been reviewed by the fire marshal, public works department staff, and zoning administrator. Staff recommends approval of the site plan review with conditions, noting concerns about the scale of the structure compared to surrounding properties.
