Description | The Odisha government announced an affordable healthcare project to set up multi-specialty hospitals in districts with poor health infrastructure. The project involves establishing hospitals at 25 locations with an investment of Rs 1,300 crore in PPP mode, adding 2,900 new hospital beds. In the first phase, hospitals are planned at Angul, Barbil, Bhadrak, and Jharsuguda, with private consortia responsible for construction and operation for 30 years. The government provides land and capital assistance. The hospitals are NABH-accredited and offer 24x7 trauma care, OPD, IPD, and super-speciality services. However, construction is delayed and progressing slowly, with expected operational dates pushed beyond November 2026. |
