The multidisciplinary training of student teams” is aimed at removing barriers to language and system in the fields of education and its adaptation to changing conditions in the common labour market. Two partner universities — Deggendorf University of Technology and the West Bohemian University of Pilsen will participate in the realisation by the Faculty of Health Sciences (WUB) and the Faculty of Design and the Arts Ladislav Sutnar (WUB). The aim of the main project is to increase the competence, knowledge and skills of the students of partner universities through practice, thereby giving them better opportunities in the labour market in the two regions. Part of the content is the joint work of students on problem solving with improvements in conditions for increasing the independence of the elderly in both border regions. The project is planned for 36 months. Each semester, three international professional Czech-Bavarian student teams will be created under the guidance of qualified teachers who will then work on practical tasks. Students can use their theoretical knowledge to test it in practice. The teams are composed of students in the technical fields (THD) and designers, occupational therapists or physiotherapists (WUB). The main topic of student work will be the creation of the technical means that prolong the self-sufficiency of seniors in their home environment. Students will expand their social knowledge and skills skills. Similarly, the solution to the problem will indirectly support the solution to the problem of unfavorable demographic development in border areas. The project results in the form of technical resources are to be demonstrated. As part of the realisation, a first and a final workshop will be held each semester, which will be used for the formation of a Czech-Bavarian international, professional student team, as well as the preparation of work assignments, thematic lectures and seminars, the crystallisation of the needs of seniors in both regions, the presentation of the achievements and the project results, but above all also the functional test of the demonstrators presented. The project is designed for 144 students (THD 90, WUP 54) and has two main areas of work within a work package. The project is in synergy with strategic documents at regional, national and EU level. It is also compliant with the strategy of WBP and THD in the development of multidisciplinary teams and supports them as a result of the collaboration.
