Multinational - 330 KV Ghana – Burkina – Mali Interconnection Project Study

This intervention concerns the 330 KV Ghana – Burkina – Mali Interconnection Project Study. The project comprises a double circuit high voltage transmission line from Bolgatanga (Ghana) to Sikasso (Mali) through Bobo Dioulasso (Burkina). It shall facilitate power exchanges between Ghana, Burkina and Mali and among other countries of the ECOWAS region and reinforce the stability and reliability of the WAPP interconnected system. The 330 kV WAPP Ghana – Burkina – Mali Interconnection Project shall reinforce the energy supply capacities of Mali (EDM-SA) and Burkina Faso (SONABEL) through the diversification of their mode of electricity provision. It shall also increase reliability for power supply to Ouagadougou given that it shall represent an alternate path for importations from Cote d’Ivoire as well as Ghana. The pre-investment studies shall include (i) Feasibility Study; (ii) Line Route Survey; and (iii) Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA); (iv) Preparation of Pre-qualification and Functional Bidding Documents.
