Multinational - African Project Development Facility (APDF)

The general goal of APDF is to contribute to the acceleration of productive enterprises sponsored by African entrepreneurs. The Facility does not provide financing but works with entrepreneurs on the preparation of viable projects and helps them secure financing from banks and appropriate sources of capital. The services of APDF include helping entrepreneurs prepare market reports, feasibility studies, and other studies needed for project preparation. It also identifies promising African entrepreneurs and helps them organise, diversify and expand their businesses and works with these entrepreneurs through out the project preparation cycle until they secure funding for the project. In special situations, the Facility also assists entrepreneurs in project implementation. APDF typically supports projects with investment cost ranging from USD 250,000 to USD 7 million, but also considers smaller projects (not less than USD 125,000) depending on the economic conditions in the entrepreneur's country and the social and economic impact the project might have.
