MULTINATIONAL - Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development (TDB) - (AR) - Risk Participation Agreement (RPA)

This Project involves a USD 175 million funded Risk Participation Agreement (Funded RPA) to TDB, where the Bank will provide liquidity of up to 50% (the other 50% to be matched by TDB) on a risk share basis. The Bank will, therefore, take on risk of the participating Issuing Banks (IBs). TDB will use the facility to provide trade loans to fund top tier IBs in its markets that would in turn support eligible trade activities of SMEs and local corporates in the COMESA region. This is on the back of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agenda of reshaping markets and economies across the region by helping to boost output in the services, trade, manufacturing and natural resources sectors.
