Multinational - Electrical interconnection study of ECCAS member countries

The electrical interconnection study of ECCAS member countries constitutes an essential instrument to give new impetus to sub-regional electrification. This study will enable ECCAS member countries to have a coherent electricity sub-sector development instrument, in particular by optimising means of generation and transportation. It lays the foundation for further cooperation and integration between countries of the sub-region and the development, for a greater number of people, of access to electricity. The study will be implemented in three phases, that is to say, the electrical interconnection preliminary study, the feasibility study of the reference interconnection schema and detailed engineering designs of projects for the priority programme. Its implementation is planned over a total of 24 months with a cost, net of taxes, estimated at about UA 2.69 million.
