Multinational - Institutional Support to the General Secretariat of the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU) - Phase 2

This operation concerns a grant not exceeding UA 495,365 to the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU) from the resources of the Middle-Income Countries Fund (MICF) to finance the second phase of the activities of the Support to the General Secretariat (SG) of the Union project. The support to the capacity building of the AMU GS responds to the needs expressed by this institution and is part of the efforts undertaken by the countries of the region to revitalise the integration process at the Maghreb level. The project is also in line with the Bank's strategic orientations in terms of promoting regional integration and is complementary to the activities already undertaken by the Bank with the AMU. The project has three components: (i) Strengthening the institutional organization of the AMU; (ii) Dissemination of economic and social information on the countries of the region and harmonization of official statistical tools; (iii) Capacity building in support of the regional integration process. The project activities will be carried out over a period of thirty (30) months from the date of signature of the Letter of Agreement.
