Description

The project is fully aligned with the first pillar of the Ghana’s (2019-2023) Country Strategy Paper (CSP) which highlights support for Ghana’s industrialization and private sector development with focus on enhancing the business environment. It is also aligned to the second priority area of the CSP for Senegal (2021-2025) which focuses on building the resilience of the economy through agricultural transformation and industrial development –where the Bank will support the improvement of agricultural productivity and the creation of decent jobs; the development of agricultural value chains; the diversification of agricultural exports and the development of agribusiness. The project is also aligned with the Plan for an Emerging Senegal (PES) Phase 2 (2019-2023) which is committed to promoting an economy based on “reducing dependence on the outside through sustainable and inclusive industrialization”; “accelerating food, health and pharmaceutical sovereignty”; “strengthening of social protection for better resilience” as well as “greater capacity for private sector intervention in the economy. In addition, the project will work towards ensuring gender mainstreaming in its SME capacity building process.
