Description | The Nelson Mandela Institute Support Project - African Science and Technology Institutions aims to strengthen the capacities of the following three (3) institutions: International Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering (2iE) of Ouagadougou, African University of Sciences and Technology (AUST) Abuja and African Institute of Sciences and Technology (AIST) Arusha. By supporting the three targeted institutions (AUST Abuja, 2IE Ouagadougou and NM-AIST Arusha) as part of the Nelson Mandela Institution's (NMI) vision, the project will help to equip the regions with the skills and research capacities necessary for scientific and technological innovation and thus improve the quality of life of African populations. The targeted interventions are divided into three components: (i) Improvement of the relevance of teaching and research; (ii) Improvement of the employability of graduates; (iii) Project coordination and regional cooperation. The total cost of this five-year project is estimated at UA 9.40 million, financed by two grants, of UA 6.67 million for the ECOWAS Commission and UA 2.73 million for the EAC respectively. |
