Multinational - Partnerships for the Development of Community Forests (PDFC)

The Partnerships for the Development of Community Forests (PDFC) project is therefore in line with Cameroon's forestry policy and poverty reduction strategy. It aims to provide support tailored to this changing context, by improving the socio-economic conditions of local populations by building the capacity of communities to manage their CF sustainably and to derive sustainable and equitable collective and individual income from it. The PDFC will provide support for components 3 "Community management of natural resources" and 5 "Institutional capacity-building, training and research" of the Forest and Environment Sector Programme (FESP), initiated by the Cameroon government. The FLEGT process (Forest Law Enforcement on Governance and Trade) or Voluntary Partnership Agreements. Community forestry in Cameroon requires a transparent monitoring mechanism. The project will support any initiative aimed at increasing the monitoring and traceability of timber and/or the labelling/certification of CF. The PDFC project is the result of collaboration between Nature+, SNV and FUSAGx, three players with extensive experience of social forestry in Cameroon.
