Multinational - Promotion of Science and Technology for Agricultural Development in Africa- Fara

The Promotion of Science and Technology for Agricultural Development in Africa project is designed to provide the continent's main economic sector with every opportunity to become self-reliant, productive, and play a part in the global economy. tHE PROJECT will contribute to the improvement of the ICT network for fast and efficient sharing and exchange of valuable agricultural information among the African agricultural research stakeholders, at national, sub-regional and continental level. The improvement brought about by this ICT network will be more than 10 times the present speed and double the efficiency. This will be instrumental for the wide-scale adoption and dissemination of new and proven agricultural technologies in the stakeholders’ communities of the 38 countries, thus contributing to the increase of food security and the reduction of rural poverty. The Project has three components as follows: (1) Knowledge and Information Management; (2) Technology Transfer and Good Agricultural Practices and (3) Project Management. It will be implemented over a period of six years with a total cost estimated at UA18.92 million.
