Multinational – 225 KV Côte d'Ivoire - Liberia Interconnection Reinforcement Project

The 225 kV Côte d’Ivoire – Liberia Interconnection Reinforcement aims to prepare pre-investment studies and project documents to be submitted to financiers for further appraisal. The Objective of the pre-investment studies is to support the Governments of Côte d’Ivoire and Liberia and their concerned power utilities, through the WAPP, to among others, (i) implement a feasibility study and carry out preliminary engineering design at feasibility level; (ii) conduct a preliminary Line route survey for high voltage transmission, and (iii) conduct an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment. The preparatory phase shall bring the Project to a state ready for financing and also enable the national utilities to take the necessary steps to have the project registered with the national agencies in charge of environmental protection in the two countries, prior to commencement of construction activities.
