Mulund Dumping Ground Redevelopment

planned

The Mulund dumping ground, a former landfill site in Mumbai, is being considered for redevelopment into various possible uses including a golf course, park, public facilities, and a hospital. The site has been closed for fresh waste since 2018, but legacy waste cleanup remains a major challenge. The civic administration has commissioned a feasibility study for a golf course on the 64-acre land parcel, while other proposals include a cancer or eye hospital and land use linked to the Dharavi redevelopment project. The project aims to transform the site into a green, safe, and usable space for the community, balancing environmental safety, public health, and local residents' needs.
