Description | The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project has completed the launch of a 130 metre steel bridge span over railway tracks in Gujarat's Bharuch district. The bridge is part of a 330 metre steel structure crossing the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, designed as a three-span structure with spans of 100 metres, 130 metres, and 100 metres. The 130-metre span was launched on May 16, 2026, standing nearly 18 metres high and 15.5 metres wide, weighing around 2,900 metric tonnes. The steel components were fabricated in Umergaon, Gujarat, and designed for a lifespan of 100 years. The launching process was coordinated to ensure freight train movement was largely unaffected. Out of 17 steel bridges planned in Gujarat for the bullet train project, 14 have been completed, with 28 steel bridges planned overall along the corridor. |
