The project authority has moved the Gujarat High Court against the revised awards, arguing that such financial burdens could threaten the viability of the ₹1.1 lakh crore infrastructure project if similar compensation orders continue across Gujarat. The dispute involves land acquired in Ochhan village of Bharuch district, with compensation increasing from ₹50 per square metre to ₹660 per square metre after appeals. The project authority questions the compensation formula used by LARRA and expects more legal battles as nearly 85 similar appeals are anticipated from central and south Gujarat. |
