A major breakthrough was achieved in the construction of a 4.8 km tunnel section of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project. Excavation was carried out simultaneously from the Ghansoli and Shilphata sides through challenging underwater terrain, successfully connecting the two ends to form India's first under-sea tunnel connecting Mumbai and Thane.
