The project involves the construction of Mumbai Metro Line 14, connecting Kanjurmarg to Badlapur in Mumbai, India.This 39 km corridor, also known as the Magenta Line, aims to enhance east-west connectivity across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.Key Features of Metro Line 14:Route and Stations: The proposed line will traverse areas including Badlapur, Ambernath, Nilje, Shil Phata, Mahape, Ghansoli, and cross Thane Creek to reach Kanjurmarg. The corridor is planned to have 15 stations: 13 elevated, one underground, and one at grade.Estimated Cost and Timeline: The estimated cost of the project is approximately INR 135 billion (US$ 1.5 billion), with a targeted completion by October 2026.Ridership Projections: The line is expected to cater to an estimated daily ridership of around 7 lakh passengers, significantly reducing road travel time by 1.5 to 2 hours.Interconnectivity: Metro Line 14 will offer strategic interchanges with Metro Line 4 (Wadala-Ghatkopar-Thane-Kasarvadavali), Metro Line 6 (Swami Samarth Nagar-Jogeshwari-Vikhroli-Kanjurmarg), and Kanjurmarg Railway Station, enhancing the overall metro network connectivity.
