Description | The Maharashtra government has issued a new order to fast-track the redevelopment of Mumbai's slums by eliminating the requirement for individual slum-dwellers' consent in group redevelopment of slum clusters. The scheme allows inclusion of centrally owned land and non-slum structures within designated cluster areas, including those under coastal regulation zones. The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) is appointed as the nodal agency to implement the scheme, which can be executed through joint ventures or private developers with preference given to those holding more than 40% of the cluster area. |
