Description
Description | Ongoing society redevelopment projects in Mumbai are expected to add over 44,277 new homes worth ₹1,305 billion by 2030. Since 2020, 910 housing societies across the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) region have signed development agreements, unlocking nearly 327 acres of land. The redevelopment is dominated by smaller societies with plots under 0.49 acres, primarily in the Western Suburbs from Bandra to Borivali, which account for 73% of the total supply. The redevelopment market faces challenges such as long timelines (8-11 years), fragmented ownership in central and south Mumbai, and financial sustainability concerns. |
