Description | The Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (HSR) project is India's first bullet train initiative, connecting Mumbai in Maharashtra with Ahmedabad in Gujarat over a 508-kilometre corridor. It aims to significantly reduce travel time to approximately two hours and seven minutes. The project includes a state-of-the-art multi-modal hub at Sabarmati integrating various transport modes. The initial trial run is scheduled for August 2027 on a 66-kilometre stretch between Surat and Bilimora in Gujarat. The project is executed by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) with technical and financial cooperation from Japan, employing advanced engineering techniques and safety features. |
