Description | The Mumblin wind farm is a 54-MW onshore wind project located about eight kilometres southwest of the town of Cobden, south-west of Melbourne, Australia. It consists of up to eight turbines with a maximum blade tip height of 252 metres and rotor diameters of 172 metres, connecting to the grid via an existing substation. The project covers 18.1 hectares of land mainly used for grazing and dairy farming, which will continue after commissioning. The construction is expected to take about a year. The project uses components from Denmark's Vestas Wind Systems, which are 90% recycled. Once operational, it will produce 190,000 MWh of electricity annually. |
