Description | This investment proposal is for the establishment of a plant for processing and value addition of sweet potatoes and various herbs. This would happen in Bungoma County. The plant will process and add value and package sweet potatoes into snacks known as crackies i.e sweet potatoe crackies and a composite flour containing dried and milled sweet potatoes along with millet, maize, cassava and soya. It will also process herbs like rosemary, lemon grass, guava and hibiscus as well as beverages like Musuna (Velvet beans) and soya. The processing plant will have a daily intake of 100 kilogrammes at operation. An initial investment of 26 million Kenyan Shillings is expected to deliver an NPV of 4.71 Million Shillings. The funding shall enable the acquisition of plant machinery, a van and develop a storage room of standard. |
