The project will expand and update the Spani Outdoor Pool complex in central Coquitlam. Currently, the facility consists of a 25m outdoor pool with dive tank and change/washrooms. This project consists of the construction of a leisure pool with accessible beach entry, a new change/washroom facility and mechanical systems upgrades. Spani Outdoor Pool has been a popular community recreation amenity for Coquitlam for 50 years. The new leisure pool and improved accessibility will further enhance recreation opportunities through the expansion of aquatic services. The project works will include: - a leisure pool with accessible beach entry and associated amenities; - new washroom/change room facility; - shade structure and seating as well as open space for social gathering; - mechanical systems including but not limited to heating, plumbing, electrical systems; - modifications to existing pedestrian and vehicular circulation to improve accessibility; and, - related works.
