Core problem Due to the inadequate provision of social, economic and administrative infrastructure, local authorities can only fulfil their responsibility to promote local development and improve living conditions to a very limited extent. Module objective Selected Malian local authorities provide economic, social and administrative infrastructure in order to fulfil their responsibility to promote local (economic) development and improve living conditions. Key outputs 1. In 4-6 selected medium-sized towns, good quality economic infrastructure (e.g. markets, bus stations) is available that adequately takes into account the needs of vulnerable groups such as women and the disabled. 2. Representatives of the most important local interest groups confirm that the specific needs of the population were adequately taken into account when planning and implementing the infrastructure.
