Description

Description

The fourth phase of the FC measure of the PACT (Programme dAppui aux Collectivités Territoriales) program for municipal development and decentralization is contributing to strengthening Malian local authorities, which were faced with particularly great challenges in the context of Mali's socio-economic crisis in 2012. PACT IV differs significantly from PACT I-III and PACT V, as there is no co-financing of FNACT. The FC funds are used to finance priority economic infrastructure in selected medium-sized towns (villes secondaires) in Mali, as well as infrastructure identified in the context of municipal dialogues on reconciliation and reconstruction in Mali (débats communaux). Additional consulting services are intended to support the local authorities in the participatory planning and implementation of infrastructure measures, as well as in the development and implementation of sustainable operation and maintenance concepts. The aim of the project is to enable local authorities to assume their responsibility for promoting local (economic) development and improving living conditions in the post-conflict situation by providing economic, social and administrative infrastructure. The total cost of the project is EUR 8.183 million. The FC contribution is EUR 8 million. The FC measure is planned to run for 30 months.
