MUNICIPAL INNOVATIONS PROJECT

The Municipal Innovations Project for Indonesia aims to demonstrate that client-responsive municipal service improvements can be stimulated through small efforts selected and funded on a competitive basis; and to promote institutional reform. The project has two components. The first funds municipal innovation subprojects of two kinds: efficiency-enhancing innovative service delivery subprojects and pilots to improve the administration, transparency in planning and implementation of expenditures and disclosure of the performance of local agencies. The second component funds technical assistance and services for project implementation, mainly for expenditures to be incurred as follows, strengthening the project management unit, providing the cost of jurors and awards for excellence, funding the cost of workshops and dissemination of innovations, and providing training.
