Description | BP has brought its sixth major upstream project of 2025 online, the Murlach field redevelopment in the UK North Sea. This project adds a peak net production of around 15,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day to BP's Eastern Trough Area Project (ETAP) in the central North Sea. The project involved redevelopment of a large field that was previously operated in the early 2000s and was acquired by BP after the previous operator relinquished the license. The project received government and regulatory approvals in 2023 and is part of BP's plan to deliver 10 major upstream oil and gas projects by the end of 2027. |
