Description | The project “Museum Practices across EU: Bridging Traditions and Innovation” is designed for students at all levels of higher education (bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral), while also offering opportunities for professional development to museum professionals, cultural institutions staff, local government representatives, civil society activists, and all those engaged in the advancement of the museum sector in Ukraine. The EU extends substantial support to Ukraine in the realm of cultural heritage preservation. Amid the ongoing war, this assistance serves not only as a means of safeguarding Ukrainian cultural heritage but also as a crucial instrument for recovering the cultural sphere and upholding cultural sovereignty. The project will embrace: –development of educational and methodological resources (syllabus, lecture notes, student workbook, methodological guidelines, interactive online course); –integration of this study course into Education Program “Cultural Studies” and academic framework of Mariupol State University (MSU); –preparation and publication of an Policy Paper: “The EU Policies and Tools for Museum sector development”, which will provide recommendations for local governments on transforming museums into cultural hubs; –organization of a series of public events (webinars, a roundtable discussion, and a final conference, “Protection and Evolution of Cultural Heritage: The Experience of Cultural Policy in the European Union” aimed at dissemination the project implementation, introducing the project idea to wider academic community and beyond, fostering dialogue, showcasing best practices in European museum management, and encouraging critical reflection. The project may serve as a pilot initiative for a broader study and dissemination campaign aimed at reinforcing European principles and standards in museum practices within the Ukrainian professional community. |
