The Musi Riverfront Development Project aims to transform the Musi River into an eco-friendly metropolitan ecological corridor with a focus on climate resilience, social equity, and environmental sustainability. The project includes upgrading essential infrastructure such as a 7,000 km underground drainage system to withstand extreme climate events, integrated waste management with modern sewage and effluent treatment plants, and a minimal displacement policy prioritizing development on open government lands. The Citizens Council has submitted a detailed proposal advocating for a climate-first, people-centric approach, green financing, community involvement, and fair resettlement practices.
