Musi Riverfront Development Project

The Musi Riverfront Development project is a grand initiative by the Telangana government to reconnect Hyderabad with the Musi river by creating a pleasing riverfront. The project aims to prevent flooding, stimulate tourism and real estate development, and redefine sustainable urban living. It involves new sewage treatment plants, increasing seasonal water flow with Godavari waters, and includes a Gandhi Sarovar with a statue, museum, research centre, and handloom training centre. The project faces challenges including large-scale displacement due to demolition of around 10,000 structures along the river.
