Description | The Boring Company’s Music City Loop is a high-speed underground tunnel project that aims to connect downtown Nashville to the airport. The project is currently in the design phase, with site preparation for the first Tunnel Boring Machine ongoing near the Tennessee State Capitol. Three additional launch sites are planned, and discussions with property owners are underway to finalize station locations, which may influence the final route. Pending permit approval and final design, tunneling could begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, with the first operational section targeted to open in early 2027 and additional segments coming online throughout that year. The machines are equipped to handle Nashville's hard rock, and advanced monitoring will ensure safe construction. |
