Description
Description | The $381 million Muswellbrook Bypass is a road project designed to divert around 2,500 heavy vehicles a day away from Muswellbrook's town centre, creating safer roads, more reliable freight movements, and a more connected community. The bypass will provide a free-flowing 100 km/h alternative route for through traffic, cutting congestion and improving travel time reliability for freight operators. The project includes a refined design with safer intersections, improved connections, better local road access, and reduced flooding impacts. Early works are underway, including cultural heritage salvage, utility relocation, and dynamic compaction work. The project is jointly funded by the Federal and NSW Governments and is expected to start major construction in 2027. |
