Description
Description | The objectives of the Second Basic Health Care Project are: 1) to support equitable access to a cost-effective package of quality health services for the uninsured and underserved; 2) support institutional development through the modernization and decentralization of technical, managerial, and financing processes in the states; and 3) support the modernization and restructuring of the Federal Secretariat of Health (SSA) to assume an active leadership role in the sector. This will be achieved through three components: 1) basic health care component which supports a basic health care package, with interventions selected from a predefined menu and targeted to the most disadvanted areas; 2) institutional development and decentralization component which improved the management and decision-making capacity in the states and jurisdictions; and 3) modernization and restructuring of the SSA. |
