The objective of the present application is to complete the financing to cover the development needs of the drama feature film MY NAME IS LILY, succeed in the development and be able to take the project to the production stage. The number of people involved in the development of the film project is around twenty-five and include the creative team, the production team, location scouter, etc. The development actions include: screenwriting, visual research, casting, location scouting, budgeting, financing of the project, securing distribution of the project, visiting film markets and festivals, creating a marketing strategy, building up all the creative team and crew, etc. In order to reach the main goal: Meraki Films (Cyprus), main production company of the film, is building up the project as an international co-development and co-production with Greece and Belgium. The co-developers will all be involved in the creative development, as well as in the financing, distribution and marketing of the film from the earliest stage. MY NAME IS LILY is set in Cyprus and Belgium and is written and will be directed by Yianna Americanou (Cyprus). The film tells the story of Lily, a Belgian intersex person living in Cyprus, that goes back to Belgium to start procedures for child adoption. When she finds out that her niece Ori is also intersex and is being forced to have the same corrective surgery she had as a child, Lily feels she has no choice but to step in and confront her family to prevent history from being repeated. The shoot will take place in Cyprus and Belgium and the original languages of the film are French, English and Greek.
