Description

Description

“My Participation Revolution” encourages young people from 4 CEE countries (AT, PL, SI, IT) to directly engage and participate in the EU with their demands and democratic expression through conferences, e-democracy tools and direct engagement with EU representatives, thereby directly addressing 3 call priorities. It brings together a multistakeholder consortium consisting of 5 different NGOs from ecological and Global Citizenship Education field and municipal education and youth actors (Adult Education Centers of Vienna) supported by Bologna Municipality. The project foresees the implementation of a participative methodology based on non-formal education in 24 months. After developing inputs on democratic engagement and participation in the EU 16 local workshops in youth centers and schools are held. The 60 youngsters will then get together in national conferences connected to each other by web featuring input on democratic participation and engagement, clustering developed issues and demands for joint national paper. Those are taken to two European Youth conferences (80 participants each) to discuss their current issues and youth demands. While the first conference will focus on starting the joint process and raise common issues using also creative and artistic methods, the second one will focus on discussing joint issues and demands and prepare a Central European youth manifesto, summing up the different issues in joint demands. In parallel and in between the issues and demands are raised, discussed, jointly developed and voted on in an e-democracy online portal including min. 150 people. In a European Advocacy seminar and a Study visit to Brussels the youth representatives will be prepared for presenting their demands in a Youth Roundtable to decision makers in the European Parliament. The project is designed appropriate to effectively meet the needs of youth and the call objectives and develop a common understanding of Citizen's engagement and participation.
