“My Resistance – My Democracy” connects European Remembrance of Resistance and democratic transition with current demands, democratic expression and resistance of young people today from 4 CEE countries (AT, PL, SI, IT). It therefore brings together a multistakeholder consortium consisting of 4 different NGOs from ecological and Global Citizenship Education field with Polis-Center for Citizenship Education, Maribor National Liberation Museum and Youth Centers MDK2 and Young Dragons. The project foresees the implementation of a participative methodology based on non-formal education in 18 months. After developing historical-pedagogical input in a digital toolkit on resistance and democratic transition 16 local workshops in youth centers and schools are held. The 80 youngsters will then get together in national meetings connected to each other by web featuring historical input and city walking tour on resistance and democratic transition and develop their issues and demands for joint national paper. Those are taken to two European Youth conferences to discuss the historical and current issues and youth demands. While the first conference will focus on Remembrance and raise issues for today's discussion using also creative and artistic methods, the second one will focus on common issues and demands and prepare a Central European youth manifesto, summing up the different issues in joint demands. In a European Advocacy seminar and a study visit to Brussels the youth representatives will be prepared for presenting their demands in a Youth Roundtable to decision makers in the European Parliament. The project is designed appropriate to effectively meet the needs of youth and the call objectives. By connecting Remembrance with the realities the target group is living in today and their democratic expression, European Remembrance will become practical and lead to a more common understanding of European Citizenship and European history beyond national perspectives.
