The project is grant funding for the MyAgro organization to expand its business activities. MyAgro is a non-governmental organization (NGO) registered in California/USA, which was founded in 2012 under US law. MyAgro's main concern is to support small farmers through a combination of providing seeds and fertilizers using a savings product (layaway), agronomic training and the sale of simple planting equipment to increase agricultural productivity and efficiency. The combination of the various factors enables the participating small farmers to achieve significant increases in yield and income. MyAgro is currently active in Mali and the non-SEWOH countries Senegal and Tanzania. The SEWOH funds are intended to enable the planned expansion and scaling of business activities in Mali and potentially other SEWOH countries in sub-Saharan Africa. The aim of the project is to generate additional income for small farmers in Mali and potentially other SEWOH countries by expanding MyAgro's business activities. MyAgro's target group are small farmers with an average land area of around 2.6 hectares, of which only a small proportion (around 0.2 hectares) is cultivated with MyAgro products. MyAgro is thus targeting a part of the population that has so far had little or no access to formal savings products.
