Description | Nam Can Hydro Electric JSC was planning the development of the 20 MW Nam Can 2 Hydropower Plant, on the Nam Can Stream, at Nam Can and Ta Ca communes, Ky Son District, Nghe An Province. Annual output was expected to be 70,520 MWh, of which 69,815 MWh was to be exported to the national grid (99.0%). The project was designed to consist of 2 turbines of 10.417 MW each. The emission factor used in the CDM appliaction was 0.5764, as supplied by the DNA Vietnam (March 2010). Project IRR with CDM was estimated at 12.43%. The first contract was signed in October 2011. Project life was estimated at 30 years. The CDM credit period was expected to start in January 2014, used here as the commissioning date. Total investment was unknown.
