Description | Hung Hai Construction Limited Company was planning the development of the 66MW Nam Na 2 Hydropower Plant, Phin Ho commune, Sin Ho district, Huoi Luong commune, PHong Tho district, Lai Chau province. The project was expected to generate 265,019 MWh annually, to be sold to the national grid. The project was to consist of 3 Vertical Shaft Kaplan turbines of 22.7MW each and 3 Synchronous vertical axis generators of 22 MW each. Commissioning was expected for 2012. The EIA was approved in January 2010. The investment license was awarded in March 2010. The construction contract was signed in April 2010. The power tariff was estimated at VND 718 per kWh ($0.0345 per kWh). Total investment was estimated at VND 1,510,399 million ($72.5 million). The project applied for UNFCCC/CDM financing, the CERs were sold for EUR10 ($13.1).
