Namibia's green hydrogen project is a multi-billion-dollar initiative aimed at transforming the country's economy, infrastructure, and global reputation. The project involves the production of green hydrogen using solar and wind power to generate electricity for water splitting. Hydrogen will be shipped to Luderitz for conversion into ammonia for export. The project also includes the development of a new port, desalination plants, and road upgrades to establish a modern industrial hub in Luderitz. It emphasizes local participation and capacity enhancement, with plans to develop over 4,000 square kilometers of solar fields and attract international manufacturers to set up local operations.
