Description

The proposed project will upgrade the French Creek Pollution Control Centre (FCPCC) wastewater treatment plant with wastewater effluent heat recovery, approximately 45 kW of solar photovoltaic panels, backup heating, and direct digital controls. The project will increase the energy efficiency of buildings by producing clean heat and electricity to offset approximately 240 GJ/yr of natural gas and 49,000 kWh/yr of grid electricity use. The project works will complement other upgrades being made to the FCPCC to expand facility capacity and improve odour control. The project works include: - solar photovoltaic (PV) panels totalling approximately 44.7 kW capacity; - PV mounting hardware and power regulation/monitoring equipment; - water-source heat pumps and fittings; - air-handling units, air conditioning unit, and associated ducts and fittings; - hydronic and baseboard heaters, emergency boiler, and circulator pumps; - building automation system; - and site work, access roads/paths, mechanical, electrical, control/monitoring, signage, and other related works and appurtenances.
