In November 2006, China International Water and Electric Corporation (CWE), a Chinese state controlled company was awarded a 30 year agreement to build and operate the Nanli 1-2 Hydropower Station in Myanmar. The total investment was 142 millions US$ and CWE owned 90% of the project. The remaining share was owned by a local state company. The entire capacity of the hydropower plant was 100MW.
