Description | Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is planning short and medium distance cruising excursions for tourists in the backwaters at potential locations in Madhya Pradesh. The project includes a proposed 120 km cruise expedition on the Narmada River from Ekatma Dham at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh to the Statue of Unity in Kevadiya, Gujarat. A 2-night cruising excursion is planned from Kukshi to Sardar Sarovar, along with day cruising around Kukshi in Dhar district. A feasibility study is underway for cruise operations in the backwaters of Gandhisagar, Rajghat (Chanderi), Omkareshwar, Indira Sagar, Tawa, and Bargi dams. The project will be implemented on a Public-Private Partnership basis with four terminals along the route, two in Madhya Pradesh and two in Gujarat. |
