Description | The Narrabri Lateral Pipeline is a 55-kilometre link connecting the Narrabri coal seam gas field to the longer Queensland–Hunter Gas Pipeline, which would carry gas through the Liverpool Plains and Hunter Valley to Newcastle. The project aims to transport coal seam gas from Santos' Narrabri gas field to the east-coast gas network, crossing some of New South Wales' most fertile farmland. The Narrabri coal seam gas project was approved in 2020, but the pipeline infrastructure is still pending final planning approval and investment decisions. The Queensland–Hunter pipeline was approved years ago but has not yet been built. |
