NASA Lunar Base

NASA plans to construct a $20 billion lunar base to establish an enduring human presence on the Moon. The project will be built in three phases: development of communications and navigation systems with robotic landers and vehicles, recurring astronaut operations on the lunar surface, and establishment of a long-duration human presence with heavier infrastructure for a permanent base. The project will be funded over seven years through dozens of missions.
