The National Biodiversity Mainstreaming and Institutional Consolidation Project is to promote mainstreaming of biodiversity principles at the national leveling key public and private sector planning strategies and practices, as well as to consolidate and strengthen institutional capacity to produce and disseminate relevant biodiversity information and concepts. The Project is designed to increase involvement in, capacity for, and consensus around mainstreaming biodiversity principles in Brazil. The project will initially work with the agriculture, health, science and technology, environment, forestry, fisheries, and water resources sectors. Energy, transport, and mining, among other sectors, are expected to become engaged in the project during implementation.
