National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Climate Science Institute Closure

planned

The project involves the planned closure and dismantling of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado, which is a major US climate science research institute. The plan includes dispersing personnel, equipment, and records, and shutting down other government-backed climate research institutes such as NOAA, the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory at Princeton, and NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies. This is part of an official drive led by Russell Vought to break up or close down climate-linked scientific institutes receiving federal funding.
