Description

Description

Kazakhstan is the ninth largest country in the world and an important political and economic player in Central Asia. In 2010, Kazakhstan became a member of the Bologna process, taking 47th place out of 48 in the list of countries in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Kazakhstan is the first and the only Central Asian state recognized as a full member of the EHEA. Today, the system of higher education in Kazakhstan in the context of the parameters of the Bologna process has a three-level higher education system; ECTS Academic Credits; Academic mobility of students, faculty and staff; European Diploma Supplement; Higher Education Quality Assurance and European research area formation. There are 104 higher education institutes (HEI) in Kazakhstan now, including national, state, JSC, private, international and autonomous institutions. The new NEO KZ established in 2023 resumed promotion and dissemination activities to activate the participation of KZ HEIs in Erasmus+. However, there is still much room for further development. Therefore, the NEO KZ has planned a number of objectives for the years 2025-2026 in line with the call document. This project proposal outlines the current state of the NEO KZ and specific tasks to be implemented, focusing on promotion and support, dissemination and exploitation of results, support to the team of Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) and other stakeholders.
